Review: Dead Silent

Dead Silent Dead Silent by Pandora Pine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

We’ve all heard the saying ‘be careful what you wish for’. Sadly, for Tennyson, he finds out the hard way some wishes come true. Overwhelmed, and being pulled in every direction by the living and the dead, with too much going on in his life, Ten feels the need to get away from everything and everyone. Including Ronan, the love of his life. Off on his solitary vacation, the dead still won’t leave him alone. In a temper tantrum fit for a toddler, he wishes his gift away. Waking up in silence the next morning, he realizes he got his wish. Now he must figure out who he is. Is he more than just his gift and what that gift allows him to do? And will everyone still love him? What follows is the discovery by both Tennyson and Ronan, that they can face challenges. And if they face them together, their relationship can come out stronger for it. We get to see more of who Tennyson is and Ronan as well. And both men realize that they have the strong support of all their friends.

The rest of the gang is here, lending moral support. In this series, that means both the living and dead. And we get some hints into Capt. Fitzgibbon’s future. These hints are given by a new character, Madame Aurora. Who has a history with Ten, and not a good one. I’m thinking she will play a bigger part in future books. And I wonder if the ME Vann Hoffman and Healer Broughan Beals will get their own story? I sure hope so.

This series is so well written. The characters feel real, you’re invested in their relationships. As you read, you feel all the ups and downs of emotions they go through. This is the third book in this series and is not a standalone. Book three focuses more on the characters then on the actual cold case, although the cold case is intriguing too. And harder to solve without Tennyson’s gift. And I can’t wait for the next book. This author has become an auto buy for me, her books are that good.
